The EP contains 5 original tunes penned by The Five, all of which will be on show for you at the upcoming EP launch gig on February 19th at The Joynt (also featuring The Narwhals). Some additional original tunes and some covers are what you’ll find on the accompanying bonus CD, which should should still sound pretty great despite the lack of cool-factor when not listening to The Five on vinyl!

We’re very excited to announce the fourth gig of our limited run of live performances, which will also double as the launch of our new 5-track EP, “For Five Nights Only” (pre-order your copy of 7″ vinyl goodness here now!). Come and catch The Five (see if you can pick some new faces in the line up!) at The Joynt on Feb 19th with The Narwals. Show starts 8.30pm.

The tracks for our upcoming debut release (as yet untitled) have been mixed, mastered, and sent off to have them “cut” onto the master for use in creating our very spiffy 7″ vinyl version of the EP. And for those of you who have long ago sold the turntable at a Saturday garage sale, we’ll be packaging the special 7″ vinyl version with a CD, filled with even more original tracks + some covers.

We’re hoping that the 7″s will be in ready for sale in mid-January, and very shortly we’ll be adding a facility here on the site to pre-order your copies. iTunes is also looking likely for those of you who like their music (even if it has a lo-fi vinyl record sound) already prepared for your iPod.

The Five were in the studio last week, starting work on the as yet untitled 5-track EP they plan to release later this year. The hallowed halls of Tone Pacer studio in Brisbane was the location for some fine examples of studio musicianship, chocolate consumption and farmyard animal noises over the talk-back mic.
